For me, the editing and retouching process is immensely satisfying. There's no doubt that some creative assistance "in post" can really help an image to sing.

I find that, even when the raw image is good, subtle enhancements can elevate and clarify, and sometimes completely change the "feel". And then at other times a good, strong dose of Photoshop is called for.
